NOMAD FoodLab welcomes WIBN Conference 2026 to Sápmi

On 2–3 September 2026, around 130 Indigenous broadcasters, journalists and storytellers from around the world gathered in Guovdageaidnu (Kautokeino) for the World Indigenous Broadcasters Network (WIBN) Conference 2026.

Hosted by NRK Sápmi under the theme “Amplifying Indigenous Voices – One Shared Future,” the conference brought together Indigenous media professionals to exchange knowledge, strengthen networks and explore the future of Indigenous storytelling, language and media.

NOMAD FoodLab was proud to be part of this international gathering, welcoming conference participants around the table and sharing Sámi food, flavours and traditions.

Food is a powerful form of storytelling. It carries knowledge about the land, culture and traditions passed between generations. At NOMAD FoodLab, this connection between people, food and Indigenous knowledge is at the heart of what we do.

As WIBN Conference 2026 brings Indigenous voices from across the world to Sápmi, we look forward to sharing another part of our story — through food.
